After a twenty-year career as a ‘classical composer’ (still in progress), Kreuzer turned his attention to the field of popular music. He began performing with a variety of rock and jazz groups, including the Welcome to my Nightmare Alice Cooper cover band, Sugar Buzz cover band and Bangers and Mash jazz quartet. These new experiences, along with having written over fifty classical compositions in a variety of mediums, styles and keys, set me on a unique path into the world of rock and roll composing.  My set of rock pieces has since expanded to over 70 songs and works in progress, in a variety of styles and forms.

It was at this point that I sought out a producer to help realize these works.  Enter Sam Polizzi, who assembled an all-star cast of the finest musicians around.  Thus became the Kreuzer Collective.  Every song the Collective produces contains a set of core performers: Johnny Cummings, Sam Polizzi and Mike Lasaponara, as well as a rotation of singers and instrumental specialists from all over the globe.

Each song has a unique style, instrumentation and form.  Harmonic schemes and chord progressions are complex and varied, with classical, folk, rock and world music influences.  Melodies, counterpoints and textures are carefully crafted and layered.  Kreuzer’s music is part inspiration, part craft, and aims to find depth and emotion through sounds and lyrics.
